The pictures above showed some primary school students learning about sound waves at our SOPHia Science workshop, hosted by the Department of Physics at the University of Limerick during the Science Week in November 2025.
The SOPHia Project’s outreach program is dedicated to inspiring the next generation of physicists by visiting primary and secondary schools throughout the academic year. Our mission is to promote physics as a fun, exciting, and accessible subject that can lead to rewarding educational and career opportunities. Through engaging demonstrations, hands-on experiments, and interactive discussions, we aim to show students just how thrilling the world of physics can be. By making science come alive in the classroom, the SOPHia team encourages students to see physics not just as a subject to study, but as a path to endless possibilities for their future careers.
