The SOPHia project is offering six<\/strong> face to fact workshops for schools during Science Week 2025. The SOPHia project aims to encourage more students to take physics as a subject, especially girls, and to improve student perceptions of physics.\u00a0The SOPHia project was originally funded by the Science Foundation Ireland, and is currently funded by the Department of Physics at the University of Limerick.

This workshop is aimed at primary level students (3rd to 6th class). <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our SOPHia workshop is all about the exciting world of physics! There\n will be science experiments, some information about what physics is \nabout, some funny stories about famous physicists, and some things for \nyou to try out at home or in the classroom too. And, as a bonus you will\n find out about the physics of bees! The workshop aims to get young kids\n interested in physics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This workshop is aimed at Junior Cycle Students<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our SOPHia workshop is all about the exciting world of physics! There will be science experiments, some information about what physics is about, stories about famous physicists, career options in physics, and some things for you to try out at home or in the classroom. Our physics students here in the University of Limerick will explain their story of how they came to study physics too. The workshop is aimed to get more young people considering physics as a subject for their Leaving Cert, and have some fun along the way too!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
